The tax deadline has come and gone, but an estimated tax payment due date is just around the corner! Second quarter estimated tax payments are due by Wednesday, June 15. Federal and/or State estimated payments must be postmarked by June 15 in order to be considered paid on time.
If your return was extended, the due date of the return is October 18. However, second quarter estimated payments, if applicable, are still due June 15. Now is a good time to send in those last remaining pending items to your accountant to complete your return in order to calculate your second quarter estimate.
Or, if you are still waiting on documents or information to come in, let your accountant know a best estimate so that they can prepare a second quarter estimated payment voucher based on your estimated tax.
