Form 5500 extended filing deadline is fast approaching!
If your company has a benefit plan that requires an annual audit, be aware that the extended filing deadline is Monday, October 17.
Annual audits for employee benefit plans are required if the number of participants exceeds 100. These audits are required to be filed with the Plan’s Form 5500, which is generally due the last day of the seventh month after the end of the plan year, e.g. July 31 for a December 31 plan year-end. However, these audits can be extended by filing Form 5558.
